Good Morning Everyone. Happy Easter.

While traditional Easter Dinner starts with Ham, this house is going different this year.  And why not? Where does it say that you have to have Ham for Easter? Turkey for Thanksgiving? Ham for Christmas?

While scheduling the family dinner, I was asked, "Mom, can we have something different than your Ham?" I though why not? So I asked what would be the awesome suggestion. Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo with Hush Puppies. Sounded delicious to me.

So, all of the veggies were prepped yesterday, the Okra was sauted and the BIG stock pot was pulled out.

Thinking about this change as I was prepping in the kitchen yesterday, had me thinking. Why do we feel that we need to do everything traditional? We don't have to do what everyone else does. It is good to be different and out of the norm. God wants us to be ourselves. We are all created different in ways. Be creative, do what makes your heart sing.

So, today my heart will sing when my Children and Grand Children, and my newest Great Grand Daughter sit down to eat, smiling as they have their Gumbo, and thanking the Lord for the many blessings he has brought into this home and family.

Sending constant Blessings to you and yours on this Easter Day.
